Just the beginning

Lisa Ferneyhough-Moss, Deputy Director of Care Operations introduces Lilian Faithfull Care’s homes and day hubs - all full of life, activity, friendship and laughter.

What sets Lilian Faithfull apart?

It’s the attention to detail and involvement of all our staff which creates a community that cares for people’s well-being and a place they can call home – a base from which to enjoy life.

How is coming into care just the beginning?

Becoming part of our Lilian Faithfull family represents the next chapter of life and the start of new friendships and experiences. My team of Activity Co-ordinators across our care homes and day hubs are dedicated to a thriving daily programme of activities, day trips and annual holidays. All are tailored to the interests and hobbies of our residents and guests, with opportunities to learn and enjoy new experiences.

What is on offer?

Activities include our new ‘Cycling without Age’ bike, sports days, gardening, baking, art, crafts, games and physiotherapy. Guests visit to provide entertainment and interaction, including singing, musical performances, exercise, poetry, reading and animals to stroke. And we organise joint events bringing residents and guests together, such as summer picnics and BBQs.

We are privileged to have strong ties with local nurseries, schools and colleges who regularly visit, bringing joy and smiles to people’s faces.

Having our own minibus helps support those we care for to be as independent as possible and foster engagement with the community across the region. It means we can attend community clubs, visit places of interest such as local landmarks, heritage houses and gardens, tea rooms and restaurants, and take river trips. Friends and family are always welcome to visit, get involved, volunteer and accompany us.

Many activities take place in small groups, but we also arrange activities on a one to one basis to ensure everyone has the chance to take part in something that they find interesting and stimulating.

We welcome new ideas, guests to provide activities and volunteers to help out. If you’re interested please contact Lisa at Lisa.Ferneyhoughmoss@lilianfaithfull.co.uk
