Flights of Fancy with Graham West.

Aveda’s new Birds of Paradise Collection is inspired by the colours, shapes, textures and movement of exotic birds explains hair colour specialist Graham West.

Cuts for winter 2017 are feathery and asymmetrical whilst styles are smooth, tousled or a contrasting blend of textures. The latest looks from Aveda bring the beauty of exotic birds to life - delicate yet strong and free-flowing.

This season’s hair colours reflect the subtle variation of feathers and the vibrant plumage of tropical birds giving endless scope for creativity. Inspired by lush rainforest shades of ruby, quartz and emerald, colour becomes more reflective and almost iridescent.

Look closely at a feather you’ll observe how the colour within it moves seamlessly along its length. By combining Aveda’s sophisticated ecliptingTM technique with balayage, we can recreate this depth, richness and blend of tone so that different shades appear to flow and merge into one another.

Using new feather shaped sectioning patterns, shaded roots and colour melts, we introduce several shades along each shaft of hair and, unusually, mix warm and cool tones. The look can be created with all colours from dramatic blues and greens to muted coppers and chestnuts, bringing fresh life, texture and movement to hair.

Over the past few months our team has honed skills to perform these new techniques, overseen an extension and refurbishment of the salon and styled hair for the catwalks at London Fashion Week.

Lots of clients visit the salon and ‘interview’ us before we touch their hair. To book your complimentary consultation with Aveda samples please call us on 01386 860 361.
