Christmas in Wychavon

The picturesque towns and villages of Worcestershire draw visitors from far afield so why not enjoy the traditional festive atmosphere and keep your preparations close to home this Christmas?

Make your Christmas shopping a leisurely experience by enjoying all that’s on offer close to home this December.

Wychavon’s historic high streets offer a wide choice of independent stores stocking unique gifts, crafts and specialist local produce. Take your time… and combine shopping with one of our traditional festive events or a meal at one of our many superb pubs, cafes and eateries. You’ll tick off your list at superfast speed with none of the scramble associated with travelling to a city centre.

With the festive lights being switched on in Pershore, Evesham and Droitwich Spa on 25th November, the area will be transformed into a glistening wonderland - a magical setting for your final preparations.

Evesham Rotary Tree of Light Turning on Ceremony 2017

Workman Gardens, Thursday 7th December, 6pm for 6.30pm

A 90ft high tree, set on the banks of the River Avon, draped with over 1000 lights, the Rotary Tree of Light means there’s no mistaking the arrival of Christmas in Evesham. When lit, its prominent position means it can be seen from miles around, a stunning addition to the town’s annual Christmas lights.

Christmas is a time for families, for remembering, celebrating and giving but at this time the loss of a loved one can be most keenly felt. The name and the symbolism of this spectacular tree are reminders that there is light and hope in the bleakest of circumstances. The Tree of Light enables sponsors to remember loved ones whilst at the same time raising funds for worthwhile causes which support others who are in need.

Join The Rotary Club of Evesham at 6pm on Thursday 7th December for mulled wine (non-alcoholic), mince pies and a selection of carols accompanied by singing from The Prince Henry's Academy Choir.

Evesham Christmas Market
